Several Stages of Building a Home

There are various stages of building a home, so depending on what stage we are at there can be less waiting time before getting into your property.  Some homes are at the permit stage where we are actively seeking or have just obtained all necessary building permits for the property.  Another point of building is the basement stage where we have built or are in the process of building the basement – typically about three to four months from completion.  Yet another stage is when the framers are putting up the frames in the home – the last real structural necessity other than roofing once the interior structures are done.  There are typically anywhere from 75 to 90 days before the home is complete from the point the framing stage begins.

One term you may have heard in some markets is “designer ready”, signifying the almost entirely completed home except for the finishing touches that would customize the space to the end user’s needs.  There is even less wait time if you get into a home that is at this stage of construction.
