Watch on your mobile device >>

At Celebrity Homes, we are asked what the difference is between buying a new home and buying a used house more frequently than any other question. Some things are rather obvious and some things may not be quite so apparent. There are differences on both the interior and the exterior of a home when it comes to buying a new home. The benefits are certainly there.

Exterior Differences

There are a number of benefits on the outside of a new home. Here are a few of them:

Upgraded elevations
More texture
More color
Latest light fixtures
Stoneware
Brand new sod

With a new home, you get all the latest exterior styles. With an older used home, you will have to go in and make any updates you want yourself. This will be an added expense for you.

Interior Differences

There are a number of differences in the newer home plans of 2011 and 2012 that the older homes just don’t have. A few worth noting are:

More open spaces
You get to select the floor coverings
Wide selection of countertop choices
Paint selections
Brand new appliances
2 year warranty on all Celebrity Homes appliances
Wide door frames at Celebrity Homes

So what is the difference between a new home and a used home? It really boils down to choice. When you build a new home, you have much more say of what goes into your home. You get to design everything to your liking. It’s your home and it will look that way. When givin the choice, choosing to build your own home offers superior options to buying a used home.
